WEEEEEEEEEEEEH aaaaannnnnd here are some Perona pics from Katsu! I'm in love with this set, I can't stop fangirling since I got them yesterday haha! Loved working with Mike! It was also such a fun shoot despite it being early-ish (I know a lot of people consider 10 am on a con morning to be early? I dunno.) You guys'll definitely see more of this cosplay, I just chose to upload this one first 'cause it showed off the entire cosplay!
ALSO: I'm SO sorry for having you wait for the Katsu video report. When I returned from the con I pretty much jumped into a new college semester (semesters are delayed here because of last year's strike), so I had to deal with a ton of paperwork, education fees, getting ajusted to classes, etc. But then if that wasn't enough I got pretty sick, and it's been about a week now. So unless you wanted to hear a toad with a runny nose tell you about Katsu, I delayed recording for my own personnal comfort.
Cosplay construction: Oooh boy, where to start.
Hat: I bought the base hat, and the flowers were bought as well, but I added little white squares of organza to them to embellish them. Wig: The wig is a long, pink curly base wig from Taobao with 4 curly clips wefted in. It's a total of 1.5 kg. I then lightly styled the bangs. Corset: The corset was something I bought on Ebay, took apart, added better boning and sewed back together again. The white decorations took 15 hours of hand stitching: the cross is satin ribbon, the four white lines is a braided trim I bought 1.5 meters of, and the cross extremeties are hand made from folding a satin ribbon into the shape, with a little pearl sewn in the middle. Skirt: Lol. So, 5 layers of Singapore linen, 1 meter white and 2 meters black, with all layers edged in lace. 12 meters of lace. This was pretty straightforward and fun to do, and the skirt is held up with an elastic band sewn into the waistband. Boots: Bought on Ebay, no modification required. Umbrella: Base umbrella bought, I made the red squares out of red polyester lining and hand sewed them on the umbrella edges. The horns are made of the same fabric and have a thin cardboard interior for support. The eyes are black and white felt. Watch (not shown): I bought an 8$ watch at Walmart and painted its band red lol. Kumashi: borrowed from the lovely
Character: Perona (timeskip, 2 years later) Series: One Piece
